Time, Beats, and Rhythm

Count Music – Hear the Beat by Counting Sets of 8

A beat is the smallest measurement of time between repetitive, audible events in music. One rhythm consists of 2 beats in most contemporary dance music. Before you can hear the rhythm, you must be able to count the 8 beats in each verse of a song. You have to be able to hear the beats before you can move/dance (distribute your weight) to them.
